By using Ferment, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

What Ferment Is

Ferment is an educational companion app for home vegetable fermentation. It provides general guidance, recipes, and tools to support your fermentation practice.

Not Medical or Food Safety Advice

Important: The information in this app is for educational purposes only. Ferment does not provide medical, nutritional, or food safety advice. The troubleshooter and safety content are based on widely accepted fermentation practices, but they are not a substitute for professional food safety guidance.

Always use your own judgment when consuming fermented foods. If you have health concerns, consult a healthcare professional.

Subscriptions and Payments

Ferment Premium is available as an auto-renewable subscription:

  • Ferment Annual — $29.99 per year (7-day free trial)
  • Ferment Monthly — $4.99 per month (7-day free trial)

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Cancellation and Refunds

To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Find Ferment and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

All payments are processed by Apple. For refund requests, visit Apple Support.

Your Content

Batch notes, journal entries, and other content you create in the app belong to you. We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't share or sell it.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Fermentation involves naturally occurring microorganisms, and outcomes can vary based on conditions outside our control. We are not liable for any adverse effects from following the app's guidance.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app.
